Boston traslada a su personal de Missouri a Florida

Citing confidence in his chances in the state, national Republicans acting in support of Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign have shifted many of their resources out of Missouri to the battleground state of Florida.

Quietly this week, the Romney campaign and Republican National Committee’s Missouri Communications Director, Tom Brandt, was moved from St. Louis to Ft. Lauderdale to assist with the party’s effort Florida, a critical swing state.

“We’re confident that Missouri will deliver it’s electoral votes to Governor Romney in November,” RNC spokesman Matt Connelly said in a statement to PoliticMo. “Accordingly, we have made the strategic decision to shift our Missouri Victory Communications Director to Florida where his efforts will have a greater impact on ensuring we elect Mitt Romney as the next President of the United States.”

Missouri ha sido un estado indeciso en las últimas tres presidenciales (2000, 2004 y 2008). Hace cuatro años, fue el más igualado de los 50 estados: McCain se lo llevó por menos de 4,000 votos y sin alcanzar el 50% (McCain 49.4% - Obama 49.3%). Recordaréis además que fue el escenario del rally más espectacular de toda la campaña, cuando Obama reunió en St. Louis a más de 100,000 almas a dos semanas de las elecciones.

Eso se terminó. Este año Obama solo ha recaudado 2.5 millones de pequeños donantes en Missouri y no ha visitado el estado. Romney solo ha hecho actos de campaña en el estado durante las primarias y lo ha visitado una vez durante el verano para recaudar fondos.
