Gingrich oficializará su candidatura la semana que viene

Newt Gingrich is set to launch his official White House bid within the next week, according to a spokesman.

Gingrich spokesman Rick Tyler told The Associated Press that the former House Speaker would become a formal candidate ahead of his speech at the Georgia Republican Party's convention next Friday in Macon.

While Tyler offered no details on that announcement, he said Gingrich "will be a candidate for president" by the time he makes that speech.

Ahead of that announcement, Gingrich has opened a campaign office in Atlanta, just two floors above the Georgia Republican Party's headquarters.

As Gingrich moves toward making his presidential run official, Tyler said he has been tying up loose business details, including turning in the manuscript for a book and completing a film that was in the works with his production company.
