Texas Gov. Rick Perry is in South Carolina to raise money for his White House bid and to help the state Republican Party pay for its first-in-the-South presidential primary.
Perry launches a two-day campaign trip in the state Friday.
He has stops scheduled at a Florence restaurant and hospital before heading to a $75-a-person fundraiser in Columbia for the South Carolina Republican Party. The event is sold out. It is the first in a series of candidate fundraisers that the GOP is using to raise cash for the primary.
Perry then heads to Greenville to tour that city's downtown with its mayor before heading to a high-dollar fundraiser.
